Hello!

My name is Ty Kellogg and I started dancing when I moved to Des Moines, Iowa back in 2023. Since then, I’ve become deeply integrated into the local dance scene, including as an avid social dancer, and amateur competitor, and a member of formation teams. I built the Dance Des Moines directory and newsletter, host social dance events with Des Moines Social Dance, the webmaster for the Polka Club of Iowa, the promoter for the Indianola Community Contra Dance, and volunteer for both the youth and adult programs at Des Moines Ballroom.

Dancewear Labs was born out of all of my experience with each of these communities, from the technical side of building resources to the marketing and promotions side of connecting communities. I’m excited to share with you what I have learned and continue to learn about the equipment that keeps all of these communities dancing.

My goal with Dancewear Labs is to provide the best information about all the dance equipment you will use. With the information on this website, you will learn what makes a shoe comfortable and last for a long time so that the money you’re spending on dancing is going towards dancing, and not continually replacing shoes.
